The advent of the Varsity Cup tournament has brought the South African rugby public’s attention back to club rugby in South Africa. A few years ago, before the days of pink shorts and “players that rock” the thought of watching club rugby on a Monday night seemed ludicrous, yet here we are, eagerly awaiting another action packed installment of the competition. Yes, very good for varsity rugby, but it's not real club rugby. We need a proper same sort comp now for our top open clubs as well to give none students also some exposure.. Rumors and talk is that one is on the way...............but time is ticking. RugbyFanatic 01/29/2012 11:54

Interesting idea, will certainly raise even more funds for the clubs fortunate enough to compete, the question simply is whether that is the answer to the issues club rugby is facing?
