Yes, very good for varsity rugby, but it's not real club rugby. We need a proper same sort comp now for our top open clubs as well to give none students also some exposure.. Rumors and talk is that one is on the way...............but time is ticking. RugbyFanatic 01/29/2012 11:54
I agree, something needs to be done. Will be very interesting to see what format they intend that competition to take, you have any info? Chris 02/03/2012 03:53
I've heard there's going to be a national televised comp for open clubs only taking place at same time as Varsity Cup with the two winners then playing each other. Oom Frikkie 01/29/2012 23:39
Allowing only non varsities to compete in club champs and then having a playoff for club of the year would be fantastic. I'm thinking Currie Cup final curtain raiser... Hmmmm.... RugbyFanatic 02/04/2012 02:49
Interesting idea, will certainly raise even more funds for the clubs fortunate enough to compete, the question simply is whether that is the answer to the issues club rugby is facing? More money going to the clubs who already have it seems to be counter productive? Leave a Reply |
